Terms and Conditions

For the purpose of this document, the following nomenclature will be used:

  • Provider of services will be referred to as such, as just “provider'', or as “teacher” .

  • Users of the service will be referred to as such, as well as "users", “students” or “clients”.

  • The services will be referred to as such, as well as “class” or “classes".

Below there is a description of some of the characteristics of the services (classes) offered, by the teacher, to students, as well as the conditions to receive and continue to receive them.

Agreeing to receiving, as well as receiving the offered services, is understood as acceptance of the terms described as follows:

1. Classes

1.1. In normal conditions, and unless previously agreed differently, classes, that are of individual character, will take place in the format of a video conference, using the platform Skype, and their duration is of one hour.

The content used will be provided by the teacher unless requested otherwise, in which case the student will provide the content desired for the classes.

The date and hour will be agreed upon by both parties, based on availability.

The classes will be provided on an on-demand basis, meaning the student will be the one to decide how many classes they want to invest in, as well as their regularity.

1.2. Intro class.

The first encounter between students and the teacher, the intro class, will be free of charge.
It will last for one hour and it is divided in two parts:

  • The first part, in which some general questions will be asked to the student, to better understand their needs and interests, in order to adapt the classes to suit them best; afterwards, a brief description of the main terms and conditions of service (described at length in this document) will be explained, as well as clearing any doubts the student may have in relation to the service.

  • In the remaining time, the second part consists of an unstructured class, so as to assess level, learning tendencies, interests, and other aspects relative to learning, to further help to personalise the content of the classes in the future.
In the case of those with no base knowledge, the class will remain unstructured, but with no assessment of previous knowledge.

1.3. Practical exercises (homework).

To support what is seen in class, practical exercises (also referred to as “homework”) will be provided (optionally) at the end of the class.

These exercises are always considered voluntary.

In normal circumstances, the submission of completed exercises and return post correction, will take place outside of class times,  during the teacher’s working days.

The exception being that the level of correction required presents evidence of the class requiring revision.

1.4. The language used during the classes will be English, Spanish, or a combination of the two.

Classes with a significant language barrier, meaning, in which the student doesn’t have any previous knowledge of either of the aforementioned languages, might be considered, but not guaranteed.

1.5. Content used in class.
Unless agreed or required otherwise, the teacher will provide custom created content for the classes, which will have the watermark reading “¡Anchoa es Castilla!” when visual based, and also voiced by the teacher when audio based.

Unless otherwise specified, this content is limited to active and former alumni, and you must obtain written or verbal confirmation by the creator (the teacher) before sharing it elsewhere.

Other types of content will be published on advertised platforms, for free, public access and use outside of classes.

1.6. Technical difficulties.
Due to the format in which classes take place, this is, online and dependant on certain services and devices being operational, whenever a class is taking, or meant to take place, and there are technical issues on either end teacher's and out of the control of either teacher, or student, that impediment the course of the class the following steps will take place:

1.6.1. Different services or devices will be used.

1.6.2. In the cases where other devices or services aren't available, or the nature of the technical issue prevents all kinds of contact, the class will be forfeited and rescheduled with no penalisations.

2. Prices

2.0. Prices are set by the teacher, and are subject to change at any time, with written notice.

2.1. From 1st of April of 2025 the classes will be priced as follows

One class: £19

5 Class Pack: £81 (£16.2 per class)

10 Class Pack: £150 (£15 per class)

These fees can be paid via the online platform SquareUp, or via bank transfer, of which details can be provided if requested.

Other options are also available upon request.

The fee for classes and packages must be paid in advance, before the time in which the next class has been arranged. In the cases where a transfer takes time to take effect, proof of payment must be provided.
In the case of the packages of classes, the teacher will notify regularly of the remaining units and the last one.

2.2. Classes and packs can also be purchased as a gift.

This can be done by selecting the option “Gift Card” in the SquareUp checkout, or adding “Gift Card” as a concept in a bank transfer, then contacting the teacher via electronic mail to provide details and to arrange the delivery of the gift voucher.

2.3. Validity of a prepaid class or package is sustained as long as:

  • It doesn’t take more than a natural year (365 days) between purchase and finishing the package, without previous notice or agreement.
Classes that have been arranged but haven’t taken place don’t count as effective
If a natural year takes place without previous agreement between students and teacher, the remaining classes will be forfeited.

  • The teacher is alive and able to provide services.
In the case of death or disabling accidents, arrangements to return prepaid services that can no longer take place, will be in place. In the case of packages, refunds will be made in the remaining classes.

  • The teacher continues to provide teaching services.
In the case of voluntary cessation of the previously provided services, all customers with pre-paid and pending classes will receive a written notification and be given enough time to make use of their purchased products.

If this cessation wasn’t voluntary, or didn’t allow time to use prepaid services, devolution of unused services will be arranged. For example, if four classes remain from a 10 Class Pack, then the value at the time of purchase for those remaining classes will be reimbursed.

2.4. Prices in different currencies:

Fees paid in any currency other than pounds, need to be calculated at the exchange rate to match the price in British pounds (GBP).

3. Returns

3.1. If you have purchased an individual class, or a pack that remains full, you can request your money back during the 14 days after your purchase. If a class has been arranged, this must take place at least 24h before the time and date arranged (see “Cancellations”).
Proof of purchase will be required
.

3.2. Class packs missing classes cannot be reimbursed, but they can be transferred to someone else.

Finding the recipient of this transfer, as well as the financial transaction, are the responsibility of the student. Once the necessary transactions have taken place, the initial student (who bought the package and has transferred to someone else) will inform the teacher, in writting, of whom has the package been transferred to.

4. Delays, no-shows and cancellations

When arranging a class date and time, it is understood that both parties (student and teacher) agree to be present at the time and date agreed, not before, not after (considered a delay).

The advance payment of a class acts as a deposit as well, and following are the circumstances in which a deposit might be lost:

4.1. Student delays and no-shows:

After 20 minutes after the agreed time and date, if a student hasn’t shown up - and has not informed of a delay or potential delay- it will be considered a no-show, and the class will be cancelled with no right to request a refund.

If the student informs the teacher in advance, they will have the chance to have a class during the remainder of the agreed class hour slot.
Recovering the lost time will be entirely at the teacher’s discretion.

4.2. Teacher delays and no-shows:

In the cases the teacher is late, the amount of time delayed will be offered as an extension of a different class, or as a separate class, upon agreement with the student.

In some cases, at the teacher’s discretion, a partial refund for individual classes might be negotiated.

4.3. Cancellations.

Cancellations, to be valid, must be in writing at least 24h prior the time the class is supposed to start. A valid cancellation implies no loss of the class and booking a favourable slot.

Cancellations taking place within the previous 24h of a class, will be considered late cancellations and will result in the loss of the deposit/ class.

An exception to this policy is the case of technical difficulties described in section 1.6. Technical difficulties. If consistenly repeated, or suspected use of this exception in events of no-show for purposes of deception, the exception will only be applied to cases in which the provider can witness technical faults, but will be forfeited as an exception in all other cases.

4.4. Bona fide.

As a bona fide, the teacher offers the following system:

The first cancellation or no-show (also referred to as “strike” for the purpose of this specific system) taking place on the part of the student, will be exempt from loss. It will be kept on record, and the previously described terms will take place after the first cancellation or no-show (strike) will result in losses after that.

Whilst having a strike on record, if there is a cancellation or no show carried by the teacher, that doesn't comply with the conditions requested for students (24h in advance for cancellations and informing prior a delay, or a no-show) the previous “strike” on the student’s record will be erased.

5.Conduct

During active shared time, such as classes or any type of communication around them or else, the following guidelines are expected in order to ensure a respectful, safe and inclusive environment for all parties involved:

5.1. Users of the service (students) approach the provider (teacher) and engage in the services voluntarily, thereby accepting the conditions described in this document.

5.1.1. It is the responsibility of the users of the service (students) to communicate, verbally or in writing, of any specific requirements that they may have to the provider (teacher).

5.2. The provider of the service (teacher) has no obligation to provide services without payment, and reserves the right to refund payments and refuse service.

In cases of gross misconduct or other illegal actions by the users of the service (students), the teacher reserves the right of refusal of service even if a payment has been made, without the right to a refund.

5.3. Communication exchanges will be respectful, and any critiques made by either party will have the best interest of the other party towards the service experience. Comments on personal aspects or unrelated to the class's topic, especially carrying insults or aggressive remarks, will not be considered acceptable.

5.4. Negative or discriminatory comments the subject of sex, orientation, gender, disability, body shape or choices, race, cultural choices, religion, neurodivergences, mental health, etc. will not be tolerated.

6.1. With the goal of enabling communication and exchange documents between students and the teacher, a name (which doesn’t have to be real) and an operative e-mail account will be requested.

In ordinary circumstances, providing any other type of information, such as phone numbers, is optional and depends completely on the will of students to share such information.

6.2. Students personal and/ or contact information requested by the teacher, or provided by the student, will not be shared without previous agreement.

6.3. Likewise, information from the teacher that hasn’t been made public (for example, phone number), must not be shared without previous agreement.

6.4. In group events, private or public, digital or physical, the students are responsible for their personal information displayed or shared in the aforementioned.

Some examples would include:

  • During live events, platforms such as Instagram or Youtube, will display the profile name of those who have joined.

  • Private events hosted in platforms like Zoom, will also show some  information provided by users included in their profiles, and optionally, the users who choose to use their cameras during the event.

6.5. In the case that the party receiving services (customers/ students) take active part in a breach of the law in a way that pose a threat or any danger to the teacher, her mental and/ or physical integrity, her possessions, as well as other people, their mental and/ or physical integrity, or their possessions, and any other cases in which legal action might be required to ensure the safety of one or more parties, the right to privacy is not guaranteed.

These cases include, but are not limited to: harassment, theft, severe copyright infringement, threats, unathorised access to digital accounts, devices or information (hacking), sexual misconduct, etc.

6.6. The provider (teacher) takes measures to keep users (students) and their information as safe as possible, but will not be held responsible for breaches, physical or digital, beyond her capacity to prevent them.
